Easter Seven-Layer Salad

Seven-layer salad is an American dish that includes a colorful combination of seven layers of ingredients such as: iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, sweet peas, hard boiled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, and bacon pieces. Wikipedia

:: Ingredients :: 

{ Layer together one day in Advance before serving }


First 6 Layers ::
1 large head iceberg lettuce chopped
1 cucumber chopped 
1 cup frozen peas partially thawed 
2 cups tomatoes chopped 
8 whole hard boiled eggs Sliced 1/4 " Thin

For The Dressing ::

1 cup sour cream
1 cup miracle whip {or mayonaise}
2 tablespoons white vinegar

Remaining Layers :: ½ cup granulated sugar

16 ounces bacon cooked and chopped ham

6 8 oz. cheddar cheese grated


:: Directions ::



Layer first six ingredients in order given.



Combine sour cream and Miracle Whip, and vinegar til creamy.



Spread dressing on top of vegetables evenly.



Sprinkle sugar on top of dressing.



Layer cheese and then bacon or ham bits



Cover and refrigerate. Toss just before serving. You may also want to add a little Salt and Pepper {to taste}

:: Layer Variations ::

 red onions sliced super thin, carrots sliced and julienned, cucumbers diced and seeded, cherry or grape tomatoes halved, radishes, red or green peppers finely chopped, dried mushrooms, red cabbage, celery  divided and thinly sliced
